U.S. President Donald Trump's executive orders have caused chaos in the U.S. military because top officials in the Pentagon misinterpreted diversity statements and set a freeze on arms deals. This was reported by Politico on January 29.

According to the newspaper, Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Laura Potter ordered the head of the procurement office to freeze and suspend bids for contracts that are related to equality, inclusion, "critical racial theory" and climate change.

It is noted that the decision caused surprise in the Army bureaucracy and forced officials to suspend their contracts. However, the freeze decision was later withdrawn.

In addition, a U.S. Defense Department official reported the army's anxiety due to the new decrees of the American leader, as well as major personnel changes. Another number of servicemen were concerned about the probable dismissal of officers from their posts due to "insufficient loyalty".

Prior to that, on January 20, immediately after the inauguration, Trump signed more than 200 new decrees. Among them were the declaration of a state of emergency on the border with Mexico and the inclusion of drug cartels in the list of terrorist organizations. And Trump also shut down all inclusivity programs at the federal level. Now only two genders are recognized in the US - male and female. In addition, the Republican will again withdraw from the Paris climate agreement.
