The media have learned about the possibility of closing up to half of Svetofor stores in Moscow

In Moscow, about half of the Svetofor chain stores may suspend their activities due to violations of sanitary and epidemiological legislation. This was reported by "Vedomosti" on January 28.

According to the newspaper, during inspections in the stores were found insects, as well as garbage and dirt in the loading rooms. Expired and low-quality goods were also found. One of the racks contained both food and non-food products, and thermometers for temperature control were missing.

In this regard, the work of retail outlets may be suspended for a period of 60 to 90 days. It is noted that four claims of Rospotrebnadzor have already been decided to suspend the work of stores. We are talking, in particular, about "Svetoforah" in Novokosino, Mitino, Nagatinsky Zaton and Lefortovo.

Earlier, on January 14, it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor will conduct unscheduled inspections in the retail chain "Svetofor" amid numerous violations - sales of low-quality and unsafe products. For example, suppliers of the network recorded non-compliance with the law on labeling, technical regulations on the production of food products, say, in the case of dairy products.

"Svetofor" manages 2.2 thousand stores with the same name sign and under the brand "Mayak", supplies through more than 100 logistics centers. According to the rating of the company "Infoline Analytics" for the first nine months of 2024, the company's revenue amounted to 286.3 billion rubles (-2.2% to the same period in 2023). The organization occupies the fifth position in the list of the largest after X5 Group, Magnit, Krasnoe&Beloe and Lenta.
