FC Anji announced its return to professional soccer

The bronze medalist of the 2012/13 Russian championship Anji Makhachkala club announced their return to professional soccer. The club announced this on January 28 in its Telegram channel.

"We are pleased to announce that FC Anji is returning to big soccer! "Anji" will play in the third division of Russia. This event will be an important part in the club's history and a sign that the team is ready to start a new stage of its life," the statement said.

Russian soccer club Anzhi is the bronze medalist of the Russian championship 2012/13 and finalist of the Russian Cup 2000/01 and 2012/13. The club lost its professional status in 2022 after failing to obtain a license for the following season.

Earlier, on January 23, Spartak goalkeeper Alexander Selikhov terminated his contract with the club. It was specified that the contract of the 30-year-old athlete was concluded until the end of the season and terminated by agreement of the parties.
