Kim Jong-un reprimanded party members for drinking and immoral behavior

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un reprimanded members of the county party committee for immoral behavior, including drinking alcohol. This was reported by the Korean Central Telegraphic Agency(KCTAK) on January 29.

According to the publication, the party members, who are inspectors of the Wuxi County Agricultural Inspection Office, took advantage of their official position and received invitations to an entertainment event with drinking alcohol. The incident took place in Yongcheon County in Nampo City.

The Party Central Committee (CC) Secretariat decided to dissolve and reorganize the agricultural inspection office in the county. In addition, those involved in the incident will be held legally responsible.

It is noted that this is the first time in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea (TPK) that dozens of responsible county workers "followed the organizer of an illegal event in a crowd." According to the publication, more than 40 people are among them.

"This for our party, for our people, for our system and jurisdiction is the biggest, in no way inexcusable crime," Kim Jong-un said.

Earlier, on December 27, 2024, it was reported that the DPRK leader gave a long-lived woman Oh Geum Sun a "festive table" for her 100th birthday. The woman lives in the village of Chhoin, Geumya County, South Hamgyong Province.
