Caches with firearms and ammunition discovered in Dagestan

Employees of the Department of the Federal Service for the Execution of Punishments in the Republic of Dagestan helped to find caches with firearms and ammunition on the territory of the region. This was reported in the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation on January 29.

They noted that three caches on the territory of the republic were discovered as a result of joint operational and search activities of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Republic of Dagestan, the regional criminal investigation department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Dagestan FSSB. Employees of pre-trial detention center-3 of the local FSSEP also took part.

"More than 3 thousand rounds of ammunition for Kalashnikov rifle, five grenades, two units of firearms, more than 20 units of component parts for military small arms were seized from illegal circulation," - said in the Telegram-channel of the department.

It is specified that criminal cases have been initiated on these facts.

Earlier, in November 2024, the main department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported the discovery by law enforcement officers with the support of the Rosgvardiya cache of artillery shells in the Zaporozhye region. The items, including more than 1,000 shells, 14 grenades, more than 3,000 rounds of ammunition and other ammunition, were handed over to sappers for destruction.
