Trump called the fired CNN journalist a "capital loser"

US President Donald Trump lambasted CNN journalist Jim Acosta's ratings problems and insulted the reporter in a January 28 post on the Truth Social network.
Earlier in the day on CNN, Acosta announced his departure from the network after 18 years on the air.
"Wow, really good news! Jim Acosta, one of the worst, most dishonest reporters in the history of journalism, a capital nasty type, has been relegated by CNN "fake news" to the midnight hour, the "valley of death", due to incredibly poor ratings and lack of talent," Trump wrote.
The US president also rejoiced at the news that the journalist was quitting, calling him a "capital loser who screws up wherever he ends up."
Earlier, on November 8, 2018, during Trump's first term, the White House suspended the accreditation of CNN correspondent Jim Acosta after the head of state's briefing on the results of the midterm elections. At the time, Trump insulted the journalist, calling him a "horrible person."
Later, on November 13 of the same year, it became known that the TV channel filed a lawsuit against Trump and several senior administration officials in connection with the deprivation of accreditation of Acosta. At the time, the White House promised that it would "vigorously" defend itself in court over CNN's lawsuit, recalling that the channel at the time had about 50 other employees who had a permanent pass to the White House.
