F-35 fighter jet crashed in Alaska


In the U.S. state of Alaska crashed fifth-generation fighter jet F-35, the pilot managed to save himself. This was reported on January 28 by the Associated Press agency with reference to a representative of the Eielson Air Force Base Staff Sergeant Kimberly Touchette.
She specified that the accident occurred Tuesday, Jan. 28, on the runway at Eielson Air Force Base, but it is still unclear whether it occurred during landing or takeoff of the advanced fighter jet. As a result, the fighter jet sustained serious damage. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is ongoing, Touchette emphasized.
"The pilot is safe and was taken to Bassett Army Hospital for further examination," the military airbase spokeswoman said.
Earlier, on January 13, it became known that the pilot of a light-engine plane died after the aircraft crashed into a dam in Australia and crashed into a crocodile-infested river. There were two people on board - the 63-year-old pilot and a 29-year-old female passenger. The man died on the spot, the woman was not injured. The passenger was evacuated from the scene by helicopter and taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for examination.
