Mi-28NM and Ka-52M helicopters destroyed AFU fire points in the Kursk border area


In the border area of Kursk Region, army aviation crews using Mi-28NM, Ka-52M helicopters and escorted by Mi-8PSG destroyed firing points of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). The Russian Defense Ministry published footage of the work of the army aviation crews on January 29.
According to the ministry, a group of Mi-28NM attack helicopters, Ka-52M and Mi-8PSG escorts carried out tasks to support the ground group of troops.
At the same time, the crews launched a missile strike on armored, automotive equipment and personnel of the AFU, hidden in a wooded area. Intelligence confirmed the destruction of the militants' personnel and military equipment. Afterwards, the crews of the attack helicopter group returned safely to the departure airfield.
Earlier, on January 28, the crew of the army aviation on the Mi-28NM helicopter as part of a mixed tactical group disrupted the rotation of AFU units in the border area of Kursk region. Thus, the pilots performed missile launches at specified coordinates, destroying armored vehicles and personnel of the enemy.
The AFU attacked the positions of the Russian Federation in the border areas of Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a federal emergency. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
