T-72B3M tank crews destroyed AFU strongholds in the Kursk border area

Crews of T-72B3M tanks of the North group of troops have destroyed dugouts, strongholds and observation posts with the Ukrainian Armed Forces' (AFU) manpower in the border area of Kursk Region. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 29.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the tankers, providing support to motorized rifle and assault units, in cooperation with reconnaissance groups and unmanned aviation destroyed dispersed enemy mobile groups, infantry, armored vehicles, artillery and mortar crews, as well as fortified positions of the AFU. Thus, as a result of the strike, dugouts, strongholds and observation posts with the enemy's manpower were destroyed. This made it possible to ensure the successful advance of the assault detachments of the "North" group of troops.
"We can go out every day, we can go out several times a day. There are always a lot of tasks," said the gunner-operator of a T-72B3M tank with the call sign Fortuna.
According to the agency, during combat operations, the tankers fire at the enemy both by direct fire and from closed firing positions, such as behind terrain or in shelters, in order to remain undetected. After firing, the soldiers change positions to avoid return fire from enemy artillery or kamikaze drones. At the same time, the combat vehicles are equipped with a powerful modern defense system, which includes electronic warfare (EW) and enhanced dynamic protection.
In addition, a cover group provides additional security for the tankers.
Earlier, on January 28, Russian fighters of the "North" group of troops destroyed an AFU T-64BV tank in the border area of Kursk Region. The objective control footage shows the sighting, precise striking, explosion and subsequent fire.
The AFU attacked Russian positions in the border areas of the Kursk region on August 6, 2024. The situation in the region was recognized as a state of emergency of federal character. The liquidation of the Ukrainian militants who invaded the Russian territory is underway.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was taken against the background of the aggravated situation in the region.
