The Arrow-10 SAM system was destroyed by AFU UAVs in the Red Army direction of the Strategic Defense Forces of the Russian Federation

A crew of the Strela-10 air defense missile system (SAM) of the Center group of troops has destroyed an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), thus providing cover for the actions of Russian servicemen's units in the Red Army direction of the special military operation. This was reported by the Russian Defense Ministry on January 29.

The ministry specified that Russian servicemen of the observation post were monitoring the airspace, during which they detected a reconnaissance UAV of airplane type of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Immediately afterwards, they transmitted data on the direction of the drone to the anti-aircraft gun crew.

After that, the SAM calculation put the complex on alert, brought it to the firing line and launched a missile, while destroying the target.

"We watch the drones that are flying in the sky. We clarify, if it is flying ours, we do not shoot it down, and if it is not ours, then we work and shoot it down," - operator-guide Sergeant Bulat Bityuleyev.

Earlier, on January 28, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that soldiers of the TOS-2 "Tosochka" heavy flamethrower system of the "Center" group of troops destroyed an AFU stronghold in the Red Army direction of the North Caucasus Military District by hitting the militants' positions with thermobaric shells.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by the Russian president on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
