Children's swimming coach Alexandra Baluyeva pointed out the benefits of swimming in the development of a child.

In a conversation with the RuNews24.Ru agency on January 27, the expert said that it is possible to start swimming practically from birth, of course, taking into account the recommendations of a pediatrician. According to her, for infants it is a whole complex of exercises aimed at development.

"Swimming is a trainer for all muscle groups, which contributes to their formation and development. Water creates resistance, which helps children to better coordinate their movements. Swimming provides development of both fine and large motor skills," Balueva emphasized.

She noted that a child's lungs and cardiovascular system are strengthened during swimming. Also water has a beneficial effect on the nervous system and relieves tension.

In addition, water stimulates tactile receptors. The coach also pointed out that joint classes with parents in the water strengthens the emotional bond between them, writes 360.ru.

According to the specialist, swimming develops and strengthens the health of children and at an older age, helping to strengthen the muscles of the back and lead to correct posture, increases endurance and general physical fitness.

Children's swimming coach stressed that before starting lessons it is necessary to consult with a pediatrician and make sure that there are no contraindications to this kind of sport.

Earlier, on January 11, the Department of Sports of Moscow reported that the capital opened free sections for swimming, aqua aerobics and athletics, writes "Moscow 24". Citizens can take part in these classes at any time if they sign up for training in the "Search for sports services" section on the mos.ru portal.

In December last year, doctor Ruslana Akhmedova advised to involve the child in physical activity to reduce the risk of obesity. This can be outdoor walks, moving games, swimming, dancing, playing sports, RT writes.

Also in December 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin recommended that regional executive bodies include physical fitness and recreation services in regional lists of state (municipal) services and works, notes the Moscow city news agency.

Before that, coach and rehabilitation specialist Evgeny Babydov said that children with confirmed scoliosis are not recommended any sports with asymmetric load until they undergo a course of corrective exercises.
