Fitzo claimed that Zelensky sent him the minutes of the failed meeting

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo has said that he received from Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy, whose term of office expired on 20 May 2024, the minutes of their failed meeting with demands to guarantee support for Ukraine 's NATO membership. The Slovak prime minister said this on January 28 during a meeting of the SMER party.
Fitzo indicated that he offered the Ukrainian president to meet on January 21 in Davos to discuss issues with gas transit through Ukrainian territory.
"You know what he did? Zelensky sent me the minutes of the meeting, which I was supposed to sign. The meeting has not happened yet, but there was already a protocol of this meeting," he said.
At the same time, according to Fitzo, there was not a word about the gas issue in the protocol, which was sent by Zelensky.
Earlier, on January 17, Fitzo said that he proposed to Zielenski to meet on Tuesday, January 21, on the margins of the World Economic Forum in Davos. According to him, the meeting in Davos may determine the future of Slovak-Ukrainian relations. On the same day, Zelensky commented on Fitzo's invitation to meet in Davos with words about Sochi.
On January 13, Fitzo also invited Z ielenski to meet near the border in Slovakia to discuss gas transit, saying that the decision to stop the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine to Slovakia and other consumers is extremely damaging to Kiev itself, Bratislava, and especially to the European Union (EU). In response, Zelensky offered him to come to Kiev.
Before that, on January 9, Fitzo threatened Kiev to stop humanitarian aid because of the decision to stop the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. The politician noted that Slovakia, as a member of the European Union, has the right of veto, which it can use to block some decisions made in the EU.
At the end of August 2024, the Ukrainian president said that the country would not extend its gas transit agreement with Russia, which expires at the end of 2024. Russian President Vladimir Putin later indicated that the country was not giving up gas transit through Ukraine.
On January 1, 2025, Gazprom said it would suspend gas supplies through Ukraine. On the same day, Fitzo noted that this would have drastic consequences for the European Union, but not for Russia.
