Employees of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analog of the military enlistment office on Ukraine) mobilized a resident of Odessa with poor eyesight during his walk with his dog. This was reported on January 28 by the Ukrainian newspaper Strana.ua" referring to the man's mother.

The woman shared that her son has very poor eyesight. According to her, the man can hardly see in one eye.

It is indicated that he was first taken to the Suvorov shopping mall, and then to the regional one. According to the man's mother, upon arrival at the shopping mall, she was charged $8,000 to release her son. However, it later turned out that he had already been mobilized and sent by an attack aircraft to the 91st brigade.

According to the mother of the mobilized man, people with open tuberculosis, as well as young men aged 22 and 24, were sent there with him.

Earlier, on January 25, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky (term of office expired on May 20, 2024) called for the mobilization of people over the age of 25 insufficient to meet all the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He also clarified that the country is mobilizing all available resources under martial law.

On the same day, Nikolai Shchur, Adviser to the Department of National Security and Defense of the Office of the President (OP), announced that the OP would make a proposal in the near future href="https://iz.ru/1828229/2025-01-25/na-ukraine-predstavat-izmenenia-v-zakon-o-mobilizacionnom-vozraste"> reduce the age of mobilization to 18 years. Shchur clarified that the innovation will affect the possibility of voluntary signing of contracts by men aged 18 to 25 who are not subject to mobilization.

On January 23, it was reported that the Ukrainian authorities work has almost been completed on a law that will allow young people from 18 to 25 years old who are currently exempt from mobilization to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This initiative is regarded as a "fair contract." It includes financial incentives, clear guarantees of training, and measures to ensure dialogue between soldiers and their commanders.

Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time, the President of the country signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its validity. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country. In April 2024, the head of the Kiev regime approved the law on tightening mobilization.
