In the Kara Sea, the icebreaker "50 Let Pobedy" damaged the board edge cladding


In the Kara Sea at night on January 26, the nuclear icebreaker "50 Let Pobedy" suffered damage to the side edge cladding while freeing a stranded vessel. This was reported by the press service of Rosatomflot to the RIA Novosti agency on January 28.
Despite the damage, there is no threat to the reactor unit and life support systems, and the icebreaker continues to fulfill its tasks in the Northern Sea Route in a normal mode. No one was injured as a result of the incident.
Earlier, on January 23, Sergei Naryshkin, Chairman of the Russian Historical Society (RHS) and Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), said that the Northern Sea Route (NSR) is one of the most promising transportation arteries in the world.
