The State Road Traffic Safety Inspectorate denied information about the mass revocation of car registrations

The State Automobile Inspectorate of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has denied information about the mass cancellation of registration of vehicles imported under parallel imports due to failure to pay the utilization fee in full. This was reported by the agency in its Telegram channel on January 28 in response to the publication of reports in the media.

The State Automobile Inspectorate reminded that the list of grounds for termination of registration of the TS is established by legislation, in particular, the Federal Law of 03.08.2018 № 283-FZ. Changing the status of the electronic passport issued to the vehicle in connection with its annulment does not apply to such grounds.

However, the change of such status of the electronic passport of the TS may entail a refusal to carry out any registration actions with the TS in the future, which is also provided for by paragraph 5 of part 3 of Article 18 of the above Federal Law, but does not prevent the operation of an already registered vehicle.

"At the same time, issues related to the recovery of underpayment of utilization fee should be resolved within the framework of customs and civil legislation, including through the application of legislation governing the enforcement of decisions on the recovery of such payments by the Federal Bailiff Service", - said the State Automobile Inspection.

Earlier in the day, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) of the Russian Federation denied information about mass mailing of requests to car owners of parallel imported cars to pay additional customs duties.
