A Russian man was detained in Berlin on suspicion of raising funds for terrorists

A Russian citizen has been detained in Berlin on suspicion of financing the terrorist group "Islamic State" (IS, banned in Russia). This was reported in the Prosecutor General's Office of the FRG on January 28.

"Russian citizen Zelimkhan D. was arrested in Berlin by officers of the Federal Criminal Police Office," the statement said.

The detainee is suspected of membership in a criminal organization, supporting a terrorist group abroad, as well as violations of the law on foreign economic activity.
