The Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of the Starlink satellite communications station in the NEO zone

On 28 January, the Russian Defence Ministry published footage of the destruction of the Starlink satellite communication station of the Ukrainian army by artillerymen of the Russian military group Zapad in the special military operation zone.

In addition, a pickup truck, a truck and a dugout of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) were hit.

The targets were identified with the help of drones by servicemen of the reconnaissance unit of the 25th Combined Arms Army of the Western Group of Forces. After confirming the exact coordinates, a decision was made to fire artillery.

All detected targets were destroyed. Air reconnaissance means carried out objective control of hits in real time.

Earlier in the day, Ivan Bigma, head of the press center of the "West" troop grouping, reported that Russian servicemen destroyed nine Starlink satellite communication stations, as well as 13 control points for AFU drones during the day. In addition, on that day the Russian Armed Forces liberated the Dvurechnaya settlement in Kharkiv Region.

Also on January 28, the Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of a Ukrainian military stronghold in the Krasnoarmeysk direction. The strikes were made with thermobaric shells using the TOS-2 "Tosochka" heavy flamethrower system. The target was hit.

The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
