- Zakharova mocked Latvia's halting training of Ukrainian medics because of Trump's decree

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on Tuesday, January 28, mocked Latvia's decision to stop training Ukrainian medical workers after US President Donald Trump's decree to freeze aid.
According to the portal of the state radio LSM, the Latvian rehabilitation center "Vaivari" suspended the training of Ukrainian medics after Trump's decision to freeze aid to foreign countries for 90 days. Within the framework of this project, 187 Ukrainian medics had managed to raise their level. Funding from the United States covered travel and maintenance costs for the program participants, as well as payment for the labor of attracted specialists.
"There is a "p" word in my head that accurately characterizes the situation. I remember! Principled," Zakharova wrote in her Telegram channel.
The Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman posed a rhetorical question to the Latvian authorities, hinting that such actions call into question their real independence.
Before that, on January 20, the White House announced the suspension of Washington's development aid to other countries for 90 days. It was specified that the "foreign aid industry" of the United States does not correspond to the interests of the state, in many cases contradicts American values, and also serves to destabilize the world.
Later, on January 25, Trump officially confirmed the aid freeze. He also added that he had created a new Department of Government Efficiency [DOGE] to be headed by American billionaire Ilon Musk.
