Ukraine reported the dismissal of the deputy head of the defense ministry

Ukraine has dismissed the country's deputy defence minister, Dmytro Klymenkov. About it on January 28 wrote in his Telegram-channel the representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk.

"The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dismissed Klymenkov Dmitry Olegovich from the post of Deputy Minister of defense of Ukraine", - he wrote.

On the eve it was reported that the Minister of defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov became a figure in a criminal case on abuse of office.

According to the Ukrainian public organization "Center for counteraction to corruption", Umerov's refusal to extend the contract with the Director of the Agency of defense procurement Marina Bezrukova contrary to the decision of the supervisory Board was illegal. It also recalled that he fired two members of the Board, who voted in favor of the relevant decision.

That the contract with Bezrukova will not be extended, Umerov announced on January 24. At the same time, he submitted a submission to the government on the dismissal of his deputy Dmitry Klimenkov. The reason he called the failure in the procurement of weapons for the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, on November 26, 2024, MP Oleksiy Honcharenko (included in the Russian Federation in the list of terrorists and extremists) submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the resignation of Umerov.

Prior to that, on November 8, Ukraine fired Deputy Defense Minister Oleksandr Sergei. Umerov submitted petitions for his dismissal back on October 1. On the same day, he sent a submission on the dismissal of his deputies Yuriy Dzhygir, Stanislav Gaider, as well as the department's state secretary Lyudmila Daragan.

Back on September 20, it was reported that Umerov and the head of the country's Main Intelligence Directorate (GID), Kirill Budanov (listed by the Russian Federation as a terrorist and extremist), could be sent into retirement.
