"Izvestia" was told the details of the detention of the container ship Baltic Summer

The law enforcers who detained the container ship Baltic Summer off the coast of Portugal seized phones from the crew members and searched the vessel. A source told Izvestia on Tuesday, January 28.

"At gunpoint, someone was driven into the room. <...> They showed cruelty. <...> All phones were seized," the interlocutor shared.

He added that the ship was carrying fruit, but law enforcers explained to the crew members that they were "suspected of transporting drugs."

The Spanish Navy together with the FBI detained the Bahamian-flagged vessel Baltic Summer with crew members from Russia off the coast of Portugal on January 27. The ship was traveling from the port of Puerto Bolivar to St. Petersburg, with 23 people on board. In the morning of January 28 Baltic Summer entered the port of St. Petersburg.
