The facade of an old mansion on Mendeleevsky Lane in Stavropol has been restored. The house belonged to the outstanding scientist-selector Alexander Derzhavin, tour guide Angelina Golovchenko reported in her social networks.

The two-story building was erected in the period from 1951 to 1953. In September 2024 it was included in the list of objects of cultural heritage of the region. The walls of the mansion were painted white, also updated the color of the window frames, fence and doors.

The house was put up for sale for a long time for the amount of about 30 million rubles. As StavropolMedia IA notes, it is unknown whether the building was bought or decided to restore it in order to sell it as soon as possible.

Alexander Derzhavin came to Stavropol in the 30s of the XX century. The scientist is known for his research on breeding new varieties of wheat, rye, sorghum and other crops. He made a significant contribution to the development of agriculture in Stavropol Krai, was an active public figure.

Earlier it was reported that three new objects were added to the list of cultural heritage of Stavropol. These are ancient burial mounds.
