Storm warning extended for a day in the Chelyabinsk region

The Chelyabinsk Region has extended the storm warning for at least 24 hours. Heavy snow and ice will remain in the region on Wednesday, January 29.

Ura.ru news agency in the press service of the SouthUrals Uprdor told that snow, wet snow, weak snowstorms are expected tomorrow in most parts of the region, as well as in the mountains during the night hours.

Difficult weather conditions are recorded in the Chelyabinsk region since Tuesday, January 28. There is wet snow in the northern part of the region and in mountainous areas. Bad weather has led to worsening road conditions. A storm warning has been announced.

The head of Chelyabinsk Alexei Loshkin ordered to strictly control snow removal and transport work because of the promised intensification of snowfalls in the period up to February 2.

Earlier, January 22, it was reported that in the town of Korkino, Chelyabinsk region, about 2 thousand people were left without electricity. The cause was bad weather.

A local technological failure on a section of the cable-technological power line in Korkino occurred during the passage of an atmospheric front across the region. It brought a sharp drop in temperature and squally wind up to 20 m/s.
