Three times more abandoned fields will be plowed in Transbaikalia

Three times more unused arable land in the Transbaikal Territory is planned to be put into agricultural turnover in 2025 compared to a year earlier. For these purposes 186 million rubles have been allocated, the press service of the regional government reports on Tuesday, January 28.
Cultural and technical measures will affect seven districts: Chernyshevsky, Shilkinsky, Priargunsky, Nerchinsky, Sretensky, Krasnokamensky and Uletovsky. Six agricultural producers will take part in them.
According to the information of IA ChitaMedia, now nine agricultural projects are being realized in the region on the area of 32 thousand hectares. In 2024, the area was only 10.5 thousand hectares.
Earlier in Transbaikalia reported on a successful experiment in soybean cultivation. The experience of farmers showed that even in the arid conditions of the region, moisture-loving plants can be grown if agro-technologies are followed.
