Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov has congratulated servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces on the liberation of the Dvurechnaya settlement in Kharkiv Region. This was reported in the Russian Defense Ministry on January 28.
"Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov congratulated the command and personnel of the 25th separate Guards Motorized Rifle Sevastopol Red Banner Brigade named after Latvian Riflemen on the successful performance of combat tasks during the liberation of the settlement of Dvurechnaya in Kharkov region," - stated in the message of the department in Telegram-channel.
The Russian Armed Forces took control of the Dvurechnaya settlement earlier in the day. Before that, on January 26, the Russian army liberated Velikaya Novoselka in the Donetsk People's Republic (DNR). In addition, at the same time, the Russian army took control of the Zelenoye settlement in the DNR.
On January 27, the military of the 40th Guards Marine Brigade of the Russian Armed Forces Group Vostok told Izvestia that they managed to avoid traps prepared by the Ukrainian army when taking the village of Velyka Novoselka. The defense of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) was organized illiterately, they noted.
On January 25, the Defense Ministry showed footage of the destruction of the AFU's manpower and weapons by heavy flamethrower systems (HFS) of the "North" troop grouping in Kharkiv Region. It was specified that the militants were found in hiding places during reconnaissance activities.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the start of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of the worsening situation in the region.
