February is the shortest month of the year and the only one of all 12 months that has less than 30 days. This month is also unique in that the number of days varies from year to year. In a normal year there are 28 days, and in a leap year there are 29 days.

This peculiarity has an astronomical origin. As it is known, the Earth makes a revolution around the Sun in 365 days and six hours. Every four years, these hours form an additional day, which must be added somewhere. In the Julian and then Gregorian calendars, the added day is February 29.

Since 2025 is not a leap year, the usual number of days is retained in the current year.

How to work and rest in February 2025: production calendar

However, Russians will not be able to rest in February, as last year. Despite the fact that Defender of the Fatherland Day is officially a non-working day, there will be no long weekend in this month.

In accordance with the Russian government resolution No. 1335 of 04.10.2024 "On the transfer of days off in 2025", Sunday, February 23 will be transferred to Thursday, May 8.

These adjustments have been made to the production calendar. Thus, February 24 will be a working day. But in May, Russians will have a long weekend on the occasion of Victory Day - from May 8 to 11.

In total, in February 2025, according to the production calendar, there will be 20 working days and eight days off.
