FAS fined Sovcombank for inappropriate deposit advertising


The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has fined Sovcombank for inappropriate advertising of a deposit. It was distributed in Moscow on a dynamic advertising structure, the press service of the antimonopoly body reported on January 28.
"The video presented information attracting consumers about the interest rate reaching 21% per annum. Other conditions of the financial product were shown in small print for a short time. Consumers did not receive the information necessary for an informed choice, determining the size and profitability of the deposit", - specified in the FAS.
The service recognized Sovcombank's advertisement as improper and issued an order to stop the violation.
Earlier, on January 13, FAS fined Alfa Bank for improper advertising campaign with "Yandex Food". It was reported that the joint advertising was distributed on the air of federal TV channels. The video contained attractive information for consumers about the accrual of a 50% cashback when paying for an order in the service "Yandex" any card of the bank. Earlier, the service recognized Alfa Bank's and Yandex Food's advertising as inappropriate and issued the companies with instructions to cease violating the federal law "On Advertising".
