U.S. suspends program to help Ukrainian refugees

The USA has suspended accepting applications for the Uniting for Ukraineprogram, which was created to help Ukrainian refugees, the US Citizenship and ImmigrationServices (USCIS) has said. This was reported by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).

"In accordance with the executive order to protect our borders, the service suspends the acceptance of Form I-134A, online applications for participation in the support program and applications for financial support until we revise all U4U conditions in accordance with the requirements of this order", - stated in the message.

The support program was launched in 2022. It provided an opportunity for Ukrainian citizens and their immediate family members to come to the United States and temporarily stay there for two years. However, Ukrainians had to have a person in the United States who would agree to provide financial support for the duration of their stay.
