"KAMAZ" began production of anti-sanctions three-axle tractors

"KAMAZ" has started producing three-axle tractors "KAMAZ-65955" in anti-sanctions version, the vehicle consists of components manufactured in Russia or friendly countries. The Chelny-based auto giant has produced the first batch of such vehicles, the automaker's press service reported in its Telegram channel on January 28.

The heavy-duty truck is designed to be used as part of a road train with a trailer. The first prototypes were assembled in the middle of 2024, the chassis was put on the main assembly line. In 2024, 59 vehicles were produced, and 360 such tractors are planned to be assembled in 2025.

According to Artem Osipov, deputy head of the department for analyzing the efficiency of vehicle assembly, this vehicle is not very different in design from the all-wheel drive dump truck "KAMAZ-65952". The most labor-intensive operation was fixing the transfer case, because of which we had to stop the conveyor for 18 minutes, he said.

In the anti-sanctions version, "KAMAZ-65955" has a more powerful engine (560 hp), there are configurations with both electric power steering and dual-circuit power steering. The transmission, transfer case, pneumatic equipment were also replaced. For greater smoothness and stability a five leaf spring on the front suspension was installed. The rear suspension of the truck was also strengthened to improve reliability and payload.

Earlier in the day it was reported that the Ulyanovsk automobile plant will produce the first batch of cars painted with the new technology at the end of January.
