The presidential election in Belarus was held at a high level, without shocks, contrary to the expectations of the West. This was stated by Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko on January 28.

"I think you have noticed that this political campaign has not disturbed the calm rhythm of the country. The elections were held at a high organizational level and without any shocks, as some in the West expected," BelTA quoted him as saying.

On the eve, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Western countries had interfered in the presidential election in Belarus and tried to sway the situation in the republic with the help of unsubstantiated ballots. In turn, Moscow welcomes the successful holding of the next presidential election in Belarus.
