Auto expert named the terms of changing the oil in the gearbox

Manufacturers of most modern cars claim that the oil in the automatic transmission is designed for the entire life of the car. However, the resource of the fluid is limited, and the service life of the car is unknown, said technical expert of Sintec Group Pavel Bakharev, reports "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on January 28.
Transmission fluid loses its properties over time, becomes contaminated with wear products of friction and gearbox parts. This can lead to deterioration of the "automatic" and even its breakdown, Bakharev explained. The company Aisin, one of the world's largest manufacturers of transmissions, recommends to carry out a partial oil change in the gearbox once every two years or mileage of 20 thousand kilometers, and full replacement - after every 60-80 thousand kilometers, said the expert.
He noted that at partial replacement about 30-50% of the oil is changed, but in this case the old oil will oxidize the fresh oil, and wear products will remain. A full fluid change is done using special equipment.
"For efficient and smooth operation of the transmission it is important that the fluid is clean, so regular replacement of the fluid in the automatic transmission will prolong the period of its reliable operation, and the service will avoid expensive repairs of the automatic transmission," - added the expert.
On the eve, auto expert Nikita Rodionov listed the car units requiring warming up in winter. In addition to the engine in the cold season, there is a need to warm up the gearbox - both manual and automatic, he said.
January 23, auto expert Alexei Balashov said that many Russian drivers in winter make mistakes that can lead to serious damage to the car. Thus, a number of motorists on slippery roads begin to brake sharply, which can lead to skidding and loss of control over the car, said the expert.
