In Podolsk, Moscow Region, a woman is accused of attempted murder of her two-year-old son with acetic acid. About it on January 28 reported in the press service of the regional Prosecutor's office.

"According to preliminary data of the investigation, in the afternoon of October 12, 2024, the accused, being near the house on Bolshaya Serpukhovskaya St. in the zone of unloading goods of the supermarket, deliberately poured 70% acetic acid into the throat of her two-year-old son," - stated in the Telegram-channel.

The woman is accused of committing a crime under part 3 of article 30, p.p.. "c, d" part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder of a minor, knowingly for the perpetrator being in a helpless state, committed with particular cruelty").

It is noted that the boy was promptly taken to a medical institution. The child's health was seriously harmed.

The criminal case was sent to the Podolsk city court for further consideration.

Earlier in the day in Balagansky district of the Irkutsk region, a criminal case was opened on the fact of attempted murder of a woman with four children. According to the investigation, at night in the settlement of Balagansk in a private house there was a conflict between former spouses. During the quarrel, the man took a canister of gasoline, poured it on the floor in the hall of the house and set it on fire, after which he fled the scene. The victims were hospitalized.
