The US has spotted unknown drones in the northeast again

Unidentified unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have been spotted in the northeastern United States after the country's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) lifted temporary restrictions on drone flights. This was reported by NBC News on January 27.
It noted that the temporary restrictions on drone flights in New Jersey and New York were lifted on January 19.
The research company Enigma Labs since November 2024 has registered 650 reports related to drones. It was clarified that the number of such reports dropped significantly after the flight ban.
However, as NBS News highlights, the company has received 49 such reports this month in New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Virginia, 14 of which came after the flight ban expired.
Unknown drones over New Jersey were reported on December 11, 2024. At that time, New Jersey Senator John Bramnick called for a state of emergency to ban the use of drones in response to numerous reports of unknown aircraft sightings in recent weeks.
Then, on December 13, then US President-elect Donald Trump accused the White House of withholding information about drones over the states and called for them to be shot down. Then it also became known about an unknown drone that flew several times over a US Navy weapons depot in the state of New Jersey.
Also on Friday, the Federal Aviation Administration imposed a temporary ban on drone flights in 30 areas of New York, and before that - a ban on UAV flights over 22 areas of New Jersey, reported NBC New York.
On December 17, it was noted that in the U.S. state of California, unknown UAVs were also spotted over the U.S. Marine Corps base.
