An expert told about a pension increase for 80-year-old Russians

Pensioners who celebrated their 80th anniversary in December 2024 will receive a bonus to payments for January and February. This was announced on January 28 by Igor Balynin, Associate Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

According to him, in January, the insurance pension increased by 7.3% and amounted to Br38,359.75. In addition, there was also accrued a doubled fixed payment of Br8,728.73 and an additional payment of Br1,287.60, which from 2025 is assigned to persons with disabilities of the first group or citizens who have reached the age of 80.

Balynin emphasized that in February pensions will be indexed: the doubled fixed payment will amount to 8907.70 rubles, and the additional payment - 1314 rubles.

With the February pension, Russians will also receive additional indexation to the January insurance pension and additional payments in the amount of Br991.87, added the associate professor. Thus, the total amount for February, which will receive a Russian who celebrated his 80th birthday last December, is Br50,359.82.

The day before, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the Russian government will index more than 40 different social payments and benefits by 9.5% from February 1. Among them are those entitled to people with disabilities of all three groups, veterans of the Great Patriotic War and combat operations, Heroes of Russia, Heroes of Labor.
