Class teacher of President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko Tatyana Karpechenko told "Izvestia" about what the future head of Belarus was like in childhood.

According to Tatiana Karpechenko, Lukashenko was a good student. Teachers spoke positively about him.

Also, the Belarusian leader acted as Santa Claus at school matinees on New Year's Eve from 8th to 10th grades.

At the same time, Lukashenko met with his teacher in 2018, the year of his small homeland in Belarus. He even once helped his former class teacher when the roof leaked at Karpechenko's house and the village council refused to provide the woman with slate to fix it.

"What do you think? He went to check tomorrow - and there is slate! Here, he gave the command. The slate was brought to me, and I covered the roof," said Lukashenko's class teacher.

Earlier in the day, chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Igor Karpenko reported that Lukashenko had won the presidential election with 86.82% of the vote. The head of the commission added that citizens and observers did not complain about violations during the voting or counting of results.

Polling stations for the main voting in the presidential election in Belarus worked throughout the country on January 26. After the turnout reached 56.64% at 12:00, the election was recognized valid. According to the CEC, the final voter turnout amounted to 85.7%.
