The release of the DeepSeek artificial intelligence model by a Chinese company should be a wake-up call for the US industry. US President Donald Trump said during a meeting of the Congressional Republican Caucus in Florida on January 27.

"The Chinese AI company's release of DeepSeek should be a wake-up call for our industry to keep us focused on competing to win," he said.

According to Trump, the cheapening and acceleration of AI is a positive development.

Earlier in the day, the Financial Times reported that the shares of the American company Nvidia fell by 16.8% amid the growing popularity of the new model of artificial intelligence Chinese DeepSeek - a competitor of ChatGPT. It is specified that due to the success of the Chinese AI shares of the S&P 500 fell by 1.5%, the Nasdaq Composite by 3%, losing almost 612.5 points, and Broadcom by more than 17%.

Prior to that, on January 24, Bloomberg news agency, citing a statement by the corporation's CEO Mark Zuckerberg, said that Meta Platforms Inc (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) plans to invest up to $65 billion in 2025 in AI-related projects, including the construction of a new large data center and an increase in its hiring program. Zuckerberg said that "in the coming years, they will advance core products and businesses, unlock historic innovation, and strengthen America's technology leadership".

In addition, Trump on Jan. 21 announced the creation of Stargate, a company that will invest up to $500 billion in AI through a new partnership with OpenAI, Oracle and SoftBank. The organization will build physical and virtual infrastructure to support the next generation of neural networks.
