Meteorologists have named the timing of winter's return

Winter weather will return to the capital region in early February, meteorologists told Izvestia.

The temperature may become negative already in the first days of February, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, told Izvestia.

"But, in my opinion, below freezing temperatures will not drop below 10 degrees Celsius. For Moscow and the Moscow region is expected to happen on February 2-3," he said.

Air temperature in early February will remain above the climatic norm, added leading specialist of the information agency "Meteonovosti" Tatiana Pozdnyakova.

With the cooling, snow cover may return, meteorologists added. But most likely, it will happen for a short time, Tatyana Pozdnyakova added. According to her, the surface of the ground is not frozen, so the falling snow will quickly thaw.
