Russia sends letter to UN Secretary General with facts of glorification of Nazism

Russia has sent a letter with the facts of the glorification of Nazism over the past few years to UN Secretary-General António Guterres. This was announced on January 27 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya during a speech at the UN General Assembly on the occasion of the International Holocaust Remembrance Day.
"Today we have sent a letter to the UN Secretary-General, which we request to be circulated as a document of the UN General Assembly and Security Council. Attached to it is an extensive list of facts of glorification of Nazis and their accomplices in recent years," Nebenzya said.
He specified that the memory of all victims of Nazism is sacred for Russia. According to him, Moscow is fully convinced of the common duty to preserve the truth about the Holocaust and other Nazi crimes.
In addition, Nebenzya expressed concern that Nazism and neo-Nazism are reviving in the modern world. It is because of this that Russia annually introduces a resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism to the UN General Assembly.
Earlier, on January 27, Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergei Nechaev called the tendency of Western countries not to invite Russian representatives to events dedicated to the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp sad and inexcusable. Nechaev also called it unacceptable that the events are held without the participation of "representatives of the victorious nation."
Prior to that, on January 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in video talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping that the ideology of fascism, Nazism and militarism should not be allowed to raise its head again. In addition, Putin said that in 2025 Russia is preparing to honorably celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
