Employees of territorial recruitment centers (TACs, analogues of military commissions in Ukraine) detained the vicar of the UOC monastery in Kharkiv Region, Archimandrite Bohdan, and then tried to "hand him over" to military units. About it on January 27 reports the Ukrainian edition "Strana.ua".
"Employees of the TCC detained 44-year-old Archimandrite Bogdan right in the cassock, sent to pass the VVK (military medical commission. - Ed.), after which they took him to a military unit in Dnipro", - stated in the message of the Ukrainian media in Telegram-channel.
It is reported that the priest was not accepted by any military unit and he was again brought to the TCC .
According to the publication, the archimandrite is kept locked up without food. Also not allowed to him lawyers.
Earlier, on December 27, it became known that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allowed to issue a reservation from mobilization to all clergymen. At the same time, clergymen were equated to the ultimate beneficial owners of critically important enterprises.
Before that, on December 13, in Ukraine, TCC employees kidnapped Ivan Roizman, secretary of the Khustka diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). The TV channel, citing the words of the clergyman's son, writes that representatives of the military commission took his father the day before, December 12. According to him, the kidnapping happened for the second time.
On November 4, the archpriest of the canonical UOC 54-year-old Oleg Melnyk was forcibly mobilized and beaten in the TCK. According to him, the man was stopped at a checkpoint and taken to the TCC, where he stayed "for more than a day without food, his phone was taken away, depriving him of the possibility to contact his family".
Martial law in Ukraine has been in effect since February 2022. At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky (powers expired in May 2024) signed a decree on general mobilization. Later, the Verkhovna Rada repeatedly extended its effect. Most men between the ages of 18 and 60 are prohibited from leaving the country.
