Cleaning of the stern section of the Volgoneft-239 tanker was completed


The final cleaning of tanks and compartments of the aft part of the tanker "Volgoneft-239" from fuel oil is fully completed. This was reported in the press service of the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar region on January 27.
"Bitumen trucks pumped and took out point residues and mixtures of oil products. The main pumping of fuel oil was completed on January 25, ahead of schedule", - stated in the message published in the Telegram-channel.
The next stage will be the utilization of the aft part of the vessel, the preparation and development of documentation has already begun.
On January 25, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev said that Morspassluzhba specialists have fully completed pumping out fuel oil from the tanker "Volgoneft-239", which sits aground near Cape Panagia in the Krasnodar Territory. Head of the Ministry of Natural Resources Alexander Kozlov said on January 23 that the Russian government will allocate 1.5 billion rubles to reimburse the expenses caused by the liquidation of the wreck of the two vessels.
Tankers Volgoneft-212 andVolgoneft-239crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of oil products. 27 people were evacuated from both vessels, one person died. On the instructions of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
On January 3, an oil slick was discovered in Sevastopol at the entrance to the Balaklava Bay. The next day the city declared a state of emergency of regional character. Municipal emer gencies were also declared in the Chernomorsky district in the west of Crimea.
