In the county of North Yorkshire in the north of England closed a pub, which worked for 460 years. This was reported by The Drinks Business on January 27.

The institution was opened in 1564, then the country was ruled by Queen Elizabeth I.

It was reported that the current tenants of the premises, where the pub is located, at the end of the contract did not want to extend it and decided to stop trading. The establishment is currently owned by Heineken UK's Star Pubs chain.

A general manager named Craig told the publication that winter has been a challenge for owners of such businesses.

"It's just the industry as a whole. I've been doing this for 37 years and I've never seen anything like it. I have three friends who have closed their pubs in the last four weeks. They operate all over Yorkshire and they are very successful pubs," he explained.

It is thought the establishment could reopen when new tenants are found.

The Burn Bullock pub, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was damaged in a fire last April. The blaze damaged three floors and destroyed the establishment's roof. Around 80 firefighters and 12 firefighters battled the blaze. The fire started in the evening and was extinguished by the next morning. As the local newspaper The Standard wrote, it is not known whether the pub building will be restored.
