In Istanbul, a teenager attacked the son of an Italian chef with a knife
A teenager in Istanbul stabbed at least five times the son of a famous Italian chef, 14-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi. The incident occurred when the schoolboy was at a flea market in the Kadıköy neighborhood. This is reported by the Turkish newspaper Gazete Memleket on January 27.
It is noted that the student of a private Italian high school was at the market with two friends. The company went there to buy equipment for skateboards. After a while, they were approached by a group of local teenagers. One of them, a 15-year-old boy, told Minguzzi that he was very handsome and offered to befriend him. After the teenager replied, "Sorry, bro," the local attacked him with a knife.
The Italian's son was stabbed in the area of the heart, lung and kidneys. He was saved thanks to a doctor who happened to be nearby. She gave the boy artificial respiration and heart massage. The victim was hospitalized and received an extensive blood transfusion. There is still a threat to his life.
Turkish police have already detained two of the attackers and they have been arrested. Italian police and diplomats have joined the investigation. Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi is the son of Andrea Minguzzi, the chef of a famous Italian restaurant in Istanbul, and Turkish cellist Yasemin Allen Akinjilar, who live in Istanbul's Beyoğlu neighborhood.
Earlier on Jan. 23, teenager Axel Rudakuban was sentenced to a 52-year prison term for killing three girls in the town of Southport in the United Kingdom. An analysis of his electronic devices showed that he was obsessed with violence and ideas of genocide. The attack by a teenager with a knife in Southport came to light on July 29, 2024. Three children were killed in the incident and eight other children and two adults were stabbed.
