Car production in Russia grew by 32.5% over the year

At the end of 2024, the production of all types of cars in Russia increased by 32.5% compared to 2023 and amounted to 976.5 thousand units. This was reported by the National Agency for Industrial Information (NAPI) in its Telegram channel on January 27.

In 2023, the output of automotive equipment in Russia amounted to 737.2 thousand units. At the same time, last year compared to 2019, the total output of transportation in the country decreased by 43.2% due to a sharp decline in the production of passenger cars - from 1.72 million units to 976.5 million units.

If in 2019, 1.51 million passenger cars came off the assembly lines in the Russian Federation, in 2023 - 539.2 thousand units, and in 2024 - 740 thousand units.

At the same time, the output of all types of commercial vehicles (LCV, trucks and buses) in 2024 increased compared to 2019, especially in the segment of light commercial vehicles (+19.5%) and in the segment of buses (+14.4%), analysts said.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that AvtoVAZ began equipping Lada Vesta cars with a new transmission - a 6-speed manual. The first production cars rolled off the assembly line on January 27. As noted by the automaker, AvtoVAZ introduces such a gearbox on production cars for the first time.
