A minibus fatally hit a pensioner on the M-2 highway in the Tula region

An elderly woman was hit under the wheels of a minibus in the Plavsky district of the Tula region. The pensioner died, the regional State Automobile Inspectorate reports in its Telegram channel.

The accident occurred last Saturday, January 25, at the 247th km of the federal highway M-2 "Crimea". It is preliminarily established that the 66-year-old driver of Volkswagen Transporter allowed a collision with an 83-year-old woman who crossed the roadway outside the crosswalk, but in the zone of his visibility.

As a result of the collision, the pensioner received various injuries, from which she died on the spot. According to TSN24, the clothing of the deceased was not wearing light-reflecting elements. All the circumstances of the tragedy are being established.

Earlier on January 27 in the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia told "Izvestia" that over the past weekend on Russian roads there were 368 accidents, in which 49 people were killed and 490 injured. At the same time, 45 accidents were recorded at crosswalks and 53 - outside their zone of action, 16 pedestrians were killed, another 126 were injured of varying severity.
