Strikes over wages have started in Finland at industrial enterprises

Several trade unions in Finland are starting protests because of disagreements with employers over the level of employee salaries. This was reported by the Finnish edition of Yle on January 27.
It is specified that negotiations with the enterprises of technological and chemical industry are conducted by the Industrial Union, which is part of the Central Association of Trade Unions (SAK). The latter has set a goal to raise wages by 10% within two years, and employers consider this requirement unrealizable.
In the first phase, the strike will last six days. The Industrial Union is supported, for example, by the Automotive and Transport Workers' Union (AKT) and the Service Employees' Union (PAM), which want to speed up negotiations. In addition, Finnair pilots have also announced protest actions against the backdrop of labor negotiations.
If the parties fail to reach an agreement, the strikes will last until February 14, and employees of major companies such as Nokia will take part in them. The protests will affect the lives of Finnish citizens: for example, containers will not be shipped in ports, and the delivery of goods will be delayed. Pilots will not be able to work overtime, and therefore 10-15 flights will be canceled every day.
Earlier in the day in Berlin because of the strike disrupted the work of public transport, until 3:00 (5:00 Moscow time) do not work subway, streetcars and most of the bus routes. On Tuesday, January 28, transportation services are likely to be irregular.
In Brussels on January 13, firefighters went on strike against pension cuts and got into a scuffle with police officers. The reason was that the protesters deviated from the agreed route and the law enforcers tried to prevent them.
Before that, on December 13, 2024, Italian trade unions held a nationwide strike against the government's plans to change the budget for 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini tried to reduce the protest to four hours by decree, but a court ruled that employees had the right to strike for twenty-four hours.
