- The festival of adaptive sports "Impulse" will be held in Chelyabinsk from April 4 to 6

From April 4 to 6, Chelyabinsk will host the second International Festival of Adaptive Sports "Impulse" within the framework of the State Program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports". More than a thousand people will show their talents and fortitude.
The project was created two years ago - when Russian athletes were suspended from participation in international competitions. Now it is important to create their own events (including sports and recreational), help each other and invite guests from all over the world who support the principle of fair competition, where beautiful sports will show people with disabilities, but unlimited inner strength.
The festival program includes more than 20 kinds of inclusive sports: adaptive taekwondo, adaptive soccer, boccia, sledge hockey on rollers, arm wrestling, karate, table tennis, judo, sambo, wheelchair fencing, board games, checkers, chess, basketball 3*, cheer sport and electric wheelchair soccer.
New for the coming year are archery and sitting volleyball. They were not in the program of the first festival. These two sports are not just a fascinating game, but also a great way to integrate people with disabilities into the sports environment. It requires excellent technique, quick reaction and friendly interaction between players.
The festival emphasizes mass amateur adaptive sports to give everyone an opportunity to participate, regardless of their sporting status. People from different regions of Russia will come to Chelyabinsk, and we are ready to welcome foreign guests as well.
Alexander Smirnov - president of the "International Inclusive Committee": "Personally, this project is important for me as an expert in the field of inclusion, adaptive sports and charity, public projects and international relations. Our team has long been organizing charitable inclusive events (competitions) in adaptive sports in Russia and abroad. We hold free training sessions in Chelyabinsk for people with disabilities and instill a love for a healthy body and spirit. In 2024 our festival won the Expert of the Year award in the sphere of international relations and in the nomination "Sport and Quality of Life" for its contribution to the development of international sport".
The gala programs of the festival will be attended by representatives of ministries and departments of the Russian Federation, members of the leadership of the guest countries and specially invited guests from Russia and countries of the world.
Within the framework of the festival the most mass in Russia will be held passing the norms of the adaptive "Ready for Labor and Defense". For families the program provides prizes and entertainment.
