UAZ gave details about the improvement of car coloring

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant will produce the first batch of vehicles painted using the new technology at the end of January. The company has introduced new robotic equipment in the paint shop to apply secondary primer to the bodies of all UAZ models, the Sollers pickup truck line and the Sollers Argo family. This was reported to Izvestia on January 28 by the company representatives, who shared new details about the modernization of production.
Thus, four robots have been introduced at UAZ, which will fully automate the process of applying primer. Polyester secondary primer is applied by electrostatic method in two layers, while the previous method of electrostatic painting allowed only one layer.
The robots are equipped with state-of-the-art application systems, including high-speed turbines with cups, which ensure optimal atomization of the primer over the entire body surface. Due to stable and uniform application, the longevity of the car's paintwork is increased. Every day the priming section passes about 200 bodies and 30 cargo bays.
"The new equipment will significantly improve the quality of body preparation for color enamel application and increase the efficiency of material consumption during painting, which will ultimately have a positive impact on the result, providing our products with greater consumer appeal and savings in production," said UAZ CEO Alexei Spirin.
On January 13, it was reported that UAZ has started testing the Patriot with a new diesel engine. The debut of the model is scheduled for the IV quarter of this year. The SUV will get the same diesel engine as the UAZ Profi light truck.
January 10, Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant reported that the best-selling in the UAZ model lineup in 2024 were commercial vehicles of the UAZ SGR ("Bukhanka") family. In total, almost 36 thousand UAZ vehicles were sold in Russia in 2024.
