The State Duma pointed to the benefit of the U.S. from the Ukrainian crisis

TheUS would not finance Ukraine if it did not benefit from it. For example, the shares of US military-industrial companies rose in price amid the conflict. First Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee Aleksey Zhuravlev pointed this out in a conversation with Izvestiya on 27 January.
On the eve, the French newspaper Ouest-France reported a record income for the United States because of the conflict in Ukraine. According to the media, the Ukrainian crisis brought the US record revenue from the sale of military equipment in 2024, which grew by 29% to $318.7 billion.
"The scheme is not new, and it was clear from the very beginning - you can look at least at the shares of companies in the US military-industrial complex, which rose by an average of 5%, which, by the way, is gigantic money. It was clear that the U.S. will not sponsor anyone for nothing, this country is a businessman always looking for financial gain first of all," commented Zhuravlev.
Thus, he specified, besides the fact that Washington supplies its own equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), the U.S. forces the countries of Europe to do the same, forcing them to replenish their arsenals at U.S. factories. In addition, against the backdrop of the terrorist attack on the Nord Stream pipeline, and the AFU attacks on Turkish Stream, the US is supplying Europe with its own fuel.
"The income from this, too, may well be attributed to what the United States got, having arranged the Ukrainian conflict", - summarized the politician.
Earlier, on January 21, US President Donald Trump said that European NATO countries should spend more on the Ukrainian conflict than Washington because it affects them much more. The American leader added that the North Atlantic Alliance needs to allocate more funds to "even the score."
Before that, on January 10, Polish Defense Minister Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh said that the situation in Ukraine upset his colleagues from NATO countries and called it very difficult for the Ukrainian army. In its turn, Reuters wrote on January 9 that the transfer of US weapons did not change the situation on the battlefield in Kiev's favor.
Western countries stepped up military and financial support for Ukraine after the start of Russia's special operation to defend Donbas. The decision to carry it out was announced on February 24, 2022 amid the aggravation of the situation in the region.
