The analytical company INFOLine has presented a study on the online trading market in Russia. According to published data, in 2024 it increased by 37% to 11.3 trillion rubles, which is more than 20% of all retail sales in the country.

Analysts have also compiled a rating of the top 10 online sellers in Russia. The top ten most popular online sellers included Wildberries and Ozon (when evaluating both marketplaces, data for Russia and without services were taken into account), companies included in the Sber ecosystem, Yandex retail assets, DNS, X5 Retail Group, All Tools, M.Video-Eldorado,VkusVill" and Lamoda.

The top five places remained unchanged from last year, but Wildberries and Ozon increased their combined market share to 56.7%. The influence of the top ten as a whole increased from 75% to 81% over the year. For the first time, the rating does not take into account the data of AliExpress, which has fully focused on cross-border trade. As INFOLine clarified for RBC, the rating of players in the online sales market includes only operators operating in the local market, and AliExpress curtailed such operations in 2023, so it was not included in the top.

At the same time, according to the analytical agency, AliExpress' turnover in the Russian market decreased by 8% last year and amounted to about 200 billion rubles, which accordingly puts it in the published rating above the All Instruments company, taking into account cross-border trade data.

According to experts, online sales will grow by about 32% in 2025 to 14.9 trillion rubles. It is expected that the growth of sales in small towns and settlements, installment payment tools, as well as the development of a range of advertising services will become powerful drivers of the market.
