BTS-Most Group became the owner of a controlling stake in Metrogiprotrans


Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies has acquired a controlling stake in Metrogiprotrans JSC. This follows from a press release made available to Izvestia on Saturday, February 22.
"BTS-Most" is Russia's largest enterprise specializing in the construction of tunnels, large and small bridges, railways and highways, ports, piers, hydraulic structures and runways. "Metrogiprotrans" in its turn is engaged in engineering, complex design. The company's competencies also include consulting and coordination; project development and PPP financing; geology, geodesy and tracing; power supply and automation; heating and sanitary systems.
"BTS-Most is currently engaged in the construction of metro facilities in St. Petersburg, while Metrogiprotrans is engaged in their design. Thus, thanks to the deal, the builder and designer of the subway for the Northern Capital were united.
Metrogiprotrans was founded in 1933 and is the largest design and survey institute in Russia in the field of integrated design of transportation infrastructure facilities. During its history, it has developed construction projects for all currently in operation lines of the Moscow Metro, major cities of Russia and CIS countries. In addition, its portfolio includes 2.1 thousand km of tunnels and 1850 bridges; 1.5 thousand km of railroads and 100 km of road infrastructure; 770 km of the Moscow-Kazan High-Speed Railway, as well as 350 thousand square meters of airport terminals.
The history of Bamtonnelstroy-Most Group of Companies began in 1975, when Bamtonnelstroy Construction Department (DC) was established for construction of all tunnels of the Baikal-Amur Mainline. Since its establishment, the company's specialists have built over 3 thousand facilities, including all tunnels on the BAM, subways in Russian and CIS cities, the Adler-Alpika-Service combined road and railroad in Sochi, facilities of the Sabetta seaport, rearrangement of railway infrastructure in Sakhalin, and a bridge crossing to Russky Island in Vladivostok.
