A fitness trainer recommended giving up ordering grocery delivery

Some Russians do not waste time going to the stores. It is easier and quicker for people to place an order with home delivery than to go shopping for groceries themselves. However, this practice carries not only convenience, but also a number of negative consequences for health and physical activity, noted DDX Fitness trainer Yuri Averyanov. He told "Izvestia" on January 28 about the harm of deliveries to people's health.
According to the expert, inactive lifestyle has long been one of the most common problems of our time. People spend most of the day sitting at a computer, in the subway, bus or car. As a consequence, not only the musculoskeletal system suffers, but also the general physical shape. Health concerns are becoming more and more pressing, and a little thing like grocery delivery can make things worse.
"Opting out of grocery delivery is not just a matter of convenience, it's a key point in building an active lifestyle. In terms of energy expenditure, each trip to the store or doing household chores beats two or three trips to the fitness club per week. Therefore, try not to miss the opportunity to go out shopping or get fresh air during a walk," said Averyanov.
The fitness trainer reminded that active lifestyle helps to improve the musculoskeletal system by toning the body muscles and delivering the right amount of nutrients to the joints. Physical activity also has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, which improves blood circulation, heart function, respiratory system function, general physical condition and the work of internal organs, strengthens blood vessels and increases endurance. This is especially important in conditions of sedentary work and constant stress.
The expert also noted that productivity and well-being can also be improved by going to the fitness room, doing light workouts or getting in 10,000 steps daily, which can be accomplished with a trip to the store.
"It's important to integrate movement into your daily life, rather than relying on conveniences like home grocery delivery. By giving it up, you'll be taking a step toward a healthier lifestyle. Spend your time more actively - your body and health will thank you," concluded Averyanov.
Earlier, on November 21, 2024, senior trainer of the international network of ballet and stretching studios LEVITA Akulina Bakhturina told "Izvestia" that with proper work with the muscles can not only improve the stabilization of the body, but also to form a beautiful posture, ideal silhouette, to get a more noticeable and natural relief. Emphasis on working these muscles also helps to reduce discomfort and pain in the back and lumbar region.
